Why the Chedi Andermatt is the best luxury hotel in Switzerland.

How to enjoy the Swiss Alps as a luxury traveler.

Spending the summer in the Swiss Alps is an unexpected yet extremely peaceful way of recharging one’s batteries. This is why the Hôtel Chedi Andermatt is a hidden gem for those looking for a unique and peaceful ambiance. The luxury 5-star deluxe resort oozes Asian zen with alpine chic.

This summer, I was invited to one of the most luxurious hotels in Switzerland, the legendary Chedi Hotel in Andermatt. Along with Bella, we enjoyed a summer Swiss alpine experience at their stunning resort.

About Andermatt & The Chedi Andermatt Hotel

The Chedi Andermatt was designed by the minimalist architect: Jean-Michel Gathy. This luxury five-star hotel is part of the elite GHM group of hotels and is one of the most carefully curated hospitality experiences I have had. Indeed, the Swiss Alps is certainly an unexpected destination for the summer one might say – given that it is such a hot spot in the winter months. However, with the heatwave that ran through all of Europe this summer, it was the perfect place to get away from the city swelter and reconnect with nature. What is more, did you know that the enchanting winter wonderland of Andermatt has been the chosen destination for the bourgeoisie since the early 19th century? Today it is most known for The Chedi Andermatt Hotel. This luxurious hotel draws in a flurry of international visitors regardless of the season. Every year Andermatt shrugs off its snowy white coat and the sun streams down the picturesque village. In the summer months, the Chedi Andermatt becomes a playground for exotic car tours, and hiking enthusiasts with a penchant for delicious dining experiences as well as being the ideal place for a luxury wellness retreat.

The hospitality of the Chedi Andermatt revolves around the following statement: Asian Simplicity in the Alps. The Chedi is in fact an alternative term for a Buddhist stupa, mainly used in Thailand. The name underlines the Asian influence that is omnipresent throughout the hotel. With the dark paneled wood, excellent Japanese restaurant, and Asian-inspired decor.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Urseren Valley, situated in the Swiss Alps, dark panels of wood soar up to the sky and form a huge complex known as the Chedi Andermatt. It is a captivating five-star escape in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. The hotel’s Egyptian owner, Samih Sawiris, has created world-class accommodations, services, and amenities for his hotel guests. This architectural gem and prestigious hotel are one of the most ideal destinations in Switzerland for travelers who want to recharge their batteries.

The Chedi Andermatt opened in December 2013 and is part of the General Hotel Management Group (GHM). It is the group’s first resort in Europe and is situated in the Urseren Valley in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

This was a truly magical experience in terms of wellness and gastronomy. I highly recommend the Chedi Andermatt as a hotel to stay in if you are looking for a little rest and relaxation, and are in search of an exceptional level of Swiss luxury hospitality. As the Chedi Andermatt is a proud member of General Hotel Management, Leading Hotels of the World, and Swiss Deluxe Hotels.

About the Hotel Rooms at the Chedi Andermatt

The room we got was beautifully decorated, very spacious, and had a large balcony overlooking the outdoor pool, set against a beautiful backdrop of the Swiss mountains. I loved the huge bathroom which was fully equipped with my favorite Acqua di parma beauty lotions and potions. I really liked the rain shower and deep soaking bathtub. Indeed, each of the hotel rooms comes with a balcony, a Bose surround sound system, and a flat-screen TV with on-demand movies (we watched Crazy Rich Asians to keep in theme with the hotel).

There are serval types of Room Categories available at the Chedi Andermatt, including:

  • Deluxe Room
  • Grand Deluxe Room
  • Junior Deluxe Suite
  • Deluxe Suite
  • Grand Deluxe Suite
  • Gemsstock Suite
  • Furka Suite
  • Gotthard Suite (which is the most prestigious category at The Chedi Andermatt. It stretches across 330 square meters and includes its own Private Spa with a Steam bath, Jacuzzi, and Sauna as well as a private wine cabinet)

The whole room that we stayed in at the Chedi Andermatt Hotel was “connected” and you could program the lighting, the fireplace, room temperature, etc all from a single iPad. What’s more, a little welcome package was waiting in the room along with a handwritten note (which always makes it so much more special). The gifts were carefully placed on the low table which was decorated with super soft floor pillows – adding an Asian aesthetic to the dark wooden chalet. This was one of my favorite spots in the room. I also loved the walk-in wardrobe which I immediately filled with my chalet chic attire. We freshened up after unpacking and headed down to the hotel lobby for the Chedi Afternoon Tea experience.

The Chedi Afternoon Tea at the Chedi Andermatt

We had the traditional Afternoon Tea on the ground floor of the Chedi Hotel. It was such a cozy setting, despite the size of the hotel. We selected a soft plush daybed and settled into the ambient space to enjoy the Chedi’s signature afternoon tea. It arrived on a beautiful silver 3-tier cake stand which was laden with stacks of sandwiches, delicious pastries, as well as an array of local delicacies. Depending on the guest’s preferences, the hotel’s afternoon tea can also be swapped for champagne as the bar is stocked with a range of Taittinger champagnes to choose from. I enjoyed a glass of Champagne Taittinger Rosé as well as a fragrant pot of tea from Dammann Frères. If Afternoon Tea is not your scene, there is also a cigar room for gentlemen to enjoy. It is also an ideal location if one is looking for a more private area to conduct their business exchanges, for example. Indeed, The Cigar Library at the Chedi Andermatt Hotel holds the world’s largest variety of cigars in the hotel industry (with over 800 different types of cigars from sixteen countries).

About the Chedi Andermatt Luxury Spa, Hydrotherapy & Pools

Our next stop in the hotel was The Spa and Health Club. I must say, this was one of my favorite aspects of the Chedi Hotel. It is based on a holistic concept and is spread over two floors. There is a beautiful 34-meter interior pool which I did serval laps of before dipping into the heated outdoor pool. I loved the 12-meter outdoor pool as I could gently relax whilst listening to the twittering of birds that swirled around the stunning alpine valley, punctuated by helicopters flying overhead. It was pure bliss and really allowed me to feel replenished and renewed.

The Spa is also equipped with a Tibetan Relaxation Lounge that offers an assortment of Far Eastern treatments customized to suit your personal needs. The Chedi Andermatt also has its own private Health Club filled with the latest TechnoGym equipment. Personal trainers are also available for individual coaching. They also offer both private and group classes including yoga and Pilates.

The Chedi Cocktail Bar & Tasting Experience

In the evening I slipped into a long slinky dress and a pair of heels before heading down to the Chedi cocktail bar. This bar actually won the Best Hotel Bar at the SWISS BAR AWARDS 2021. With around 500 different spirit items, including limited liquid editions, regional gins, and fruit brandies from renowned Swiss distilleries, you are sure to find the perfect beverage adapted to your palette. What is more, they offer both signature drinks and non-alcoholic drinks, and this includes non-alcoholic cocktails as well as wine. I loved how relaxing yet luxurious the setting was. With several circular fireplaces, soft leather sofas dotted with soft pillows, and a full-service bar in dark wood. We then enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal complete with a wine flight selection best suited to each dish.

The Luxury Pit Stop Experience in a Morgan 4/4 and a Scenic Picnic in Andermatt Valley with The Chedi Hotel.

A true 007 Bond Girl adventure: during my stay at the Chedi Andermatt Hotel I really had the feeling of being on set for a James Bond film. Indeed, if you are a fan of James Bond, fast cars, fine wine, and dining, then this is the hotel for you. Why James Bond, you ask? Well, the iconic car chase from the James Bond Goldfinger was filmed in Andermatt itself. Indeed, the Chedi Andermatt Hotel pays tribute to this historic moment in cinema in the summer months by offering its guests a unique 007 experience known as the Luxury Pit Stop. The Chedi hotel organized a fantastic Luxury Pit Stop experience for me and Bella, and we had the most marvelous time. We tucked ourselves into the beautiful Vintage 4×4 Morgan and rode up into the mountains. It was truly like being on the set of an old movie and I adored every second of it! This experience is only available during the summer months, and I really recommend it. Indeed, you can also have the option at the hotel to have a picnic with the experience as well. This is what we did, we drove up and then set up our little picnic that was previously prepared by the hotel staff beforehand. Then once we had found the perfect spot, we took the little wicker picnic basket and blanket up with us and set up the picnic, and enjoyed a delicious late lunch against the stunning backdrop of the Urseren Valley. Complete with delicious spring rolls, fresh sandwiches, and delicious desserts.

In Conclusion

In total at the Chedi Andermatt, there are 123 elegant rooms and suites, five outstanding restaurants and bars, a modern Health Club, and an exceptional spa area. You really are spoilt for choice and pampered in terms of culinary experiences. This said, my personal favorite aspects of the Chedi Andermatt were:

⁃ The exceedingly professional, helpful, and polite staff (especially Chris who helped us set up the picnic in the perfect spot tucked away on a hillside that overlooked the valley).

⁃ The tranquility of the outdoor heated pool area. Possibly the most serene and connected to nature that I have felt in a long time.

⁃ The balcony area with a stunning view from the 6th floor.

⁃ The Morgan 4/4 Luxury pit stop experience, was truly unforgettable.

⁃ The gastronomical aspect: from the wine flight to the Asian delights, the endless choices in the morning at the breakfast buffets to the cheese room, it was a real strong point of the hotel stay.

As you can see, the Chedi Andermatt is the perfect place to visit in the summer. With its stunning location in the Swiss Alps, luxurious accommodations, and variety of activities and amenities, it’s an unforgettable experience that you won’t want to miss. So why not book your stay at the Chedi Andermatt today and start planning your summer getaway in the Swiss Alps?

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa in Mykonos: A Dreamy Destination for Luxury Lovers

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa in Mykonos: A Dreamy Destination for Luxury Lovers

A TRENDY DESTINATION IN MYKONOS. IN THIS ARTICLE I INTRODUCE YOU TO THE PETASOS BEACH RESORT & SPA – THE ULTIMATE HOTEL EXPERIENCE

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa in Mykonos – A luxurious boutique hotel ideally situated on the Greek Island

One of the best hotels in Mykonos, Petasos Beach Resort stands on its own private peninsula. This hotel is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Ideally situated between Platis Yialos and Psarou Beach in Mykonos Island. The luxury hotel is just under a 20-minute drive from the charming main town of Chora, more commonly known as Mykonos Town. The hotel also offers airport transport by private shuttle, or you can book one of the 30 taxis available on the island. In short, the hotel location is fantastic and super central. The Petasos Beach Resort includes a large spa & wellness center, a fitness center, and a 2-level, saltwater swimming pool with a waterfall as well as direct access to the sea. With my fellow travel companion, luxury blogger, and longtime friend, Stephanie Olivier, we had the pleasure of discovering one of the coolest hotels in Mykonos together.

Mykonos Island: About The Location

Mykonos is a beautiful Greek Island that offers luxury, history, exquisite cuisine, shimmering sea shores, and amazing beach clubs. It is known as The Island of the Wind. The island is located in the Cycladic region of the beautiful Aegean Sea. Mykonos is one of the most cosmopolitan European hot spot destinations in the summertime. The world elite can be met here. The Greek Island counts hundreds of credits by the international press. Mykonos has some of the most beautiful beaches as well as picturesque villages. It is a much-loved vacation hideaway for the jet-set crowd as well as being a fabulous destination for luxury lovers with a penchant for the bohemian lifestyle.

The greek island is known most famously as a party destination. Celebrities, models (including Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner, Gigi, and Bella Hadid), football players, actors, and high flyers all flock to the island each summer to soak up the sunshine, dance on mega yachts, and swim in the crystal blue sea. Indeed, even during our stay at Petasos, hotel guests included a British football player and several models. Moreover, Mykonos island was recently the backdrop for the latest Fendi campaign for this summer. So needless to say, luxury runs rampant throughout the island. This said Mykonos is also the perfect location if you want a quiet vacation in a chic hotel lounging by the sea and enjoying a wellness retreat.

Our Experience in Mykonos

This was not my first time visiting the Greek island. I actually went the first time when I was very small, about 7 or 6 years old with my family in the very early 2000s. This was back when the island was still a wild, untouched raw beauty. Not yet famed for the party-loving lifestyle. Indeed my early memories of Mykonos island were of the Greek donkeys climbing up the rocky mountains. I had since been back a multitude of times in my 20s and had already been to the famous beach clubs such as Scorpios (one of my personal favorites), Nammos, and Principote Mykonos as well as the most popular nightclubs in Mykonos Town, such as Bonbonniere and Astra. Stephanie has been going religiously every year to the island each summer since I met her, so needless to say, we were not strangers to the Myconian way of life. This said I was quite excited to experience the Greek hospitality at the beautiful Petasos Beach Resort & Spa.

We caught a super early flight into Mykonos directly from Geneva. Luckily, our room was already prepared for us and we received and super warm welcome from the friendly Petasos hotel staff. The first thing we did was unpack and settle into our large hotel suite with a fantastic view of the sea. Then we freshened up and headed to the beachfront that is exclusively reserved for hotel guests.

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa

Petasos hotel is well-placed for visiting the better beaches of Mykonos such as Platis Yialos and Psarou Beach as the property is a 2-minute walk from these beaches. Psarou beach is where the famous blue and white beach club NAMMOS Mykonos is located. You can actually see it from the hotel as well. For those who seek a calm oasis of privacy, at Petasos Beach Resort you can enjoy their private beach that is exclusively reserved for their hotel guests.

From the Petasos’ private hotel beach area you can order delicious food from their menu. For example, you can enjoy the Greek specialty which I personally adore, called Caffe Freddo on the seashore. We also ordered fresh fish from their beach club menu.

The location was so dreamy. I loved the pretty red beach beds which were neatly lined in the sand. The whole atmosphere actually reminded me of the Italian Riviera, and in particular Capri Island. I must say, having a private beach was one of my favorite aspects of the hotel.

Prefer the pool? You can also enjoy the day relaxing on the chic loungers by the pool and enjoying their chill music. Right next to the swimming pool are the bar and restaurant; creative fusion gastronomy. There is a jacuzzi and beautiful sun deck area as well. For those who want to stay in shape, there is a small but very nice gym. You can also enjoy one of their yoga classes, and then treat yourself to a massage at the hotel spa (which is exactly what we did after a full day at the beach).

Our first day in Mykonos was spent lounging by the sea at the hotel’s private beach. Then around 5 pm, we headed up to the Petasos Beach Resort & SPA where we had booked a double massage treatment. This deep relaxation was very much needed after our early wake-up call.

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa: The wellness & SPA treatments

The Aqua Marine Spa was located just beneath our hotel suite, so we headed down the stairs into the cool SPA. There we were greeted by the lovely SPA manager, Dora, and made our selection of treatments. The Petasos Beach Resort and Spa offers revitalizing and thalasso-therapy treatments, as well as honeymoon packages.

I opted for a full-body, deep relaxation and Stephanie chose a combined massage. We were both incredibly relaxed after the treatment and slowly went up to our room to get ready for the iconic Myconian evening sunset.

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa: The Hotel Rooms

The luxurious Petasos Beach is like a small village. Lined with the iconic white-washed Myconian buildings, set against the most breathtaking views of the seaside. This architecture is echoed throughout the Cyclades islands, the shapes and colors are inspired by the blue Mediterranean sea and white clouds.

The hotel rooms are decorated in a minimal-chic, modern manner. All of the accommodation options are equipped with Wi-Fi internet access. Deluxe and superior rooms also feature a spa bath and a shower which doubles up as a steam cabin.

The spacious rooms and suites, also come with Jacuzzi options and private outdoor pools in the suites with incredibly beautiful, grand panoramic views. I love the transparent division between the bath and my room. You can sit in your bubble bath and look over the beautiful blue sea in the distance. Of course, it also has blinds which you can shut, for those who want more privacy. Needless to say that I was delighted that they had a little espresso machine in the room, so I could enjoy a quick pick-me-up coffee when needed. Our ensuite room included a beautiful blue and white balcony which overlooked the mega yachts dotted along the coastline. As well as a huge wardrobe which I immediately filled with my many bikinis, beach cover-ups, new “Livia” Thalie Paris bag in Tanzanite Blue and Greek Island attire. I loved that the room had a big, full-sized mirror for us, fashion bloggers, to make sure our outfits were on point. There was also a pretty seating area near the terrace, complete with a white sofa and armchairs for when we wanted to lounge around. With the heat, we also took full advantage of the room’s air conditioning, which could be easily adjusted at all times.

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa: The Breakfast Buffet & Menu

The Petasos Beach Resort and Spa offers an experience at any time and goes far beyond a simple hotel where you rest and relax. There are 2 restaurants within the premises of the Resort, with a great view of the Aegean sea. Each day, we started with a 45-minute session at the hotel gym before heading to their open-air restaurant. I must say, I really enjoyed the options available at the breakfast buffet. I had never seen so many dietary-restricted-friendly options! Including alternative kinds of milk such as soy, coconut, and almond. They also had an incredible array of nut butter, which I had no idea even existed and so I was very curious to try them. The full selection of nut butters included classics like almond and peanut, but there was also cashew, hazel, pumpkin, tahini, and sunflower seed! Each day, I also ordered my favorite almond milk cappuccino for breakfast. And each morning our table was full of fresh fruit, eggs, oatmeal, gluten-free bread, juices, and of course, the unique creamy Greek yogurt with walnuts and honey.

Petasos Beach Resort & Spa: Final Thoughts

It’s not difficult to fall in love with such a dreamy hotel located in beautiful Mykonos. This said my favorite aspects of the hotel were:

  • The incredible Breakfast
  • Private Beach
  • Hotel Spa & personalized treatments
  • Friendly and super helpful Hotel Staff
  • The beautiful Myconian architecture and design of the hotel

If you are looking for a hotel to book in Mykonos, Petasos Beach Resort & Spa is perfect for:

  • Jet-setters and high flyers
  • Foodies
  • A romantic couples getaway
  • Families
  • Friend groups who loves luxury and creature comforts
  • Whilst the Petasos villas are ideal for longer stays as they include a kitchen, private pool, and other facilities
  • And their hotel suites offer all you could want for a weeklong vacation

I hope that you enjoyed my review of this wonderful hotel in Mykonos. Please let me know in the comments if you would also like to visit this place. For more travel articles and hotel reviews please click here.

A huge thanks to everyone at the Petasos Beach Resort & Spa for making our stay so wonderful.

Sweet satin slip dresses for Spring

Spring Fashion Outfit Ideas with NA-KD.

Firstly, Happy First Day of Spring! So it finally the sun is out and the flowers are beginning to bloom which makes me so happy. I caught the nasty flu after traveling to Paris for Fashion Week and completely lost my voice. So I was extremely happy when I became healthy again to see that the season change was in full swing here in Geneva.

About NA-KD Fashion

With the shift into spring, I usually take time to do my Spring Cleaning and look for fashionable staples that I can wear through spring into late summer. Which is why I want to share with you may latest spring shopping haul from NA-KD. With the temperatures rising it means that it’s time to bring out those traditional transitional pieces such as classic trench coats and lighter layers. So today I wanted to share with you how I combine them with three Spring looks I styled from the Scandinavian brand NA-KD.

NA-KD is one of my favorite fashion brands when it comes to shopping online. They always have super cool collaborations with big Danish and Dutch fashion bloggers and influencers such as Claire Rose Cilteur, Hanna Schönberg, Josefine H. J., and even the ever so stylish former Victoria Secret model, Romee Strijd. What’s more, I have a discount code for -20% off the whole NA-KD website: AnnaSwissMermaid (valid for 48 hours as of today).

  1. Baby Blues: I love the cut of this blue slip dress in satin from NA-KD’s new spring collection. The waterfall neckline is so flattering and easy to wear in the warmer months. What’s more, the back is open with very thin straps that crisscross into a bow and are adjustable. This is a detail I find so pretty and feminine as well as being very practical. I really like the of cornflower blue with the tiny printed white flowers. It reminds me of classic Norwegian textiles in blue and white. I paired it with white boots, my Vivienne Westwood pearl necklace, and an oversized cashmere coat in blue from Maje. Which was an easy, fresh weekend look. Ideal for grabbing a mocha at my favorite local coffee shop and strolling around in the sunshine.
  2. Satin cream: Then there is this luscious lace-up slip dress in off-white with a small blue floral print all over it . It reminded me so much of the English Rose, Cottage Core Aesthetic, and the Netflix series Bridgerton, with the puffy sleeves, romantic empire waist, and soft cream color. I love the slit leg detail as well which is very practical for walking with ease. It feels like the perfect picnic dress for spring. I styled it with a pair of white leather high-top converse shoes and a light cream-colored suede coat.
  3. Pink Paradise: Lastly, I opted for a satin pink printed skirt. This is actually part of a set. I will probably get the matching top as I love Co-ord sets so much. The pink and purple circles are so cute and girly, and I like that there is a bit of white and black in the print so you can combine the skirt with either color. For this final outfit, I went for a simple white top to make sure the satin pink skirt remained the focal point and paired it with my white Chuck Taylor’s and super 90’s square shaped black sunnies.

So there you have it, three easy spring looks for the weekend with NA-KD fashion.

If you’re looking to update your wardrobe, I definitely recommend checking out their website as they have super stylish springtime looks, from uber-trendy styles to timeless wardrobe staples. Also if you do find something you absolutely love from the website don’t forget you an enjoy -20% off the whole NA-KD website with my discount code AnnaSwissMermaid (valid for 48 hours as of today). Wishing you a wonderful start to the new season.

ABOUT NAKD CIRCLE

Another great thing about NA-KD is that they have free climate-compensated shipping and returns. The fashion brand has a large variety of sustainably sourced clothing. To top it off, customers can sell their old clothes directly on NA-KD.com by clicking the “pre-loved” menu at the top of the website. Integrating the circular fashion economy. This is a marketplace for pre-loved fashion. On part of the NA-KD website you can find all available second hand items. I find this super cool because sometimes there are pieces from older collections that you wish you had gotten and NA-KD circle ensures you don’t get shopping FOMO. Plus the way it is set up, you just shop as usual. Simply put the item in your basket and check out just as easy as buying new products. How cool is that?

Silver Leather & Half-Moons: Paris Fashion Week Day 3 with Marine Serre and Barbara Bui in Le Marais

The edgy insiders of Paris Fashion Week

Our last fashion presentations at Paris Fashion Week were all in Le Marais. This is a very hip area of Paris – a neighborhood filled with free-spirited artists, where the cool cats of the city reside.

The last day in Paris was absolutely freezing with an icy wind cutting through the streets. We would be out and about most of the day so I forfeited heels and opted for my almond-colored Hogan sneakers. I paired them with forest green palazzo trousers, a silk green shirt, and my trusted bottle green trench coat. Topping off the look with a black bucket hat. After seeing just how cold it was outside I decided to add an extra layer under the coat – a checkered blazer from Coster Copenhagen. This said, I actually ended up purchasing an oversized green hoodie in Uniqulo from the menswear halfway through the day because I was absolutely frozen. The art of layering on another level here as I had 2 jackets on, a hoodie and a silk blouse. My fashion freezing solutions aside, let’s talk about the last day’s presentations and designers.

About the Marine Serre Hard Drive Exhibition

First, we headed to the Marine Serre’s Hard Drive exhibition with Lafayette Anticipations (which is the Foundation Galleries Lafayette’s contemporary art center). For those who don’t know, the Galleries Lafayette is one of France’s most prestigious fashion department stores.

As we were staying in the 16th Arrondissement, and all our appointments that day were in the 3th or 4th arrondissement, it was a little too far to go on foot – so we hopped in a cab and headed to our first appointment in Le Marais. The Marine Serre Hard Drive exhibit was an exclusive 2-day exhibition that took place on our last day of Paris Fashion Week. Tucked away in the streets of Le Marais in Paris, the two-day exhibition was spread across 3 sprawling warehouse floors. Each of the floors had a specific theme linked intrinsically to the brand Marine Serre.

The first floor focused on Marine Serre’s pioneering production methods for their collections. With on-site team members creating the pieces from up-cycled textiles such as denim and tartan into unique pieces. It was really nice as we were able to speak with the team and understand their process for the different pieces.

Then you could head up to the second floor which presented the pieces an immersive environment. By that, I mean to say that multiple mannequins were placed in instillations pieces and fully dressed in the new Marine Serre collection. This reflected the different elements that make up the crux of the collection.

There were walls lined with wooden desks mounted with glass that also showed the process of upcycling for the Marine Serre jewelry pieces. Taking a single fork and moulding it into a unique piece of jewelry.

The new Marine Serre AW22 collection was made from up-cycled materials to create edgy ready-to-wear pieces for both men and women. The fashion collection featured the brand’s iconic half moon with panels of tartan, denim and Toile de Jouy. Contrasting classic fabrics with sharp silhouettes and punk elements.

Last but not least, there was a staircase that led up to the third floor. This was the final room of the Hard Drive exhibition. It showcased a series of Marine Serre’s original artwork paintings that reinterpreted iconic 15th and 16th-century Dutch oil paintings, incorporating the AW22 pieces that we had just seen on the floors before.

When exiting the Marine Serre Hard Drive exhibition, you could go to their Pop Up store. Here you could purchase fashion pieces from the fashion designer. Another extremely creative and unique aspect of thr pop-up was that Marine Serre offered visitors the opportunity to reinvent their own favorite items (anything fabric-based) with a screen print of the brand‘s signature half-moon logo. The line was very long for this unique opportunity and whilst waiting one could admire the beautiful selection of Marine Sere’s ready-to-wear & accessories available as well as a curated selection of books, vinyls, and objects.

Barbara Bui: The Epitome of the French Rock Chic

We stopped for a spot of lunch and then we headed to our next presentation: Barbara Bui. This is a purely Parisian fashion brand that totally captures the essence of the rock chic in each of their pieces. I first discovered the brand when I was in my early 20s, whilst working at Bongenie Grieder as their Art Director and Social Media Coordinator. It was THE bestseller at the Swiss luxury department store when it came to leather jackets. And of course, the piece which stole my heart this season was a stunning silver cropped leather motorcycle jacket. The collection’s key colors were bright and bold: sunflower yellow, royal purple, and blue.

Conclusion

The last day of Paris Fashion Week included edgier, cool girl brands such as the rock chic icon Barbara Bui and the urban aesthetic niche of Marine Serre.

Overall the whole trip was an amazing experience and I absolutely adored it. I cannot wait to head back this September for the Spring Summer 2023 collections.

Lierac Premium: Be your own kind of beautiful

I got back from work to find a beautiful surprise waiting for me: the Lierac Premium serum and cream tucked in with a gorgeous flower. In honour of International Woman’s Day, Lierac had sent this wonderful gift to me. It was such a nice attention to detail. The Lierac Premium is the French beauty brand’s luxurious range. The products contain hyaluronic acid and black flower extracts to help combat the visible signs of the passage of time.

The packaging of the Lierac Premium cream was so regal, with black and gold details – I absolutely loved it. The cream was nestled neatly inside a velvet lined box which also contained the smallest little black envelope I had ever seen. Tucked inside this envelope was a small spatula to apply the cream with and a detailed explanation of the cream’s benefits. The formula is inspired by regenerative medicine. The cream treats deep wrinkles, loss of density, dark spots, skin slackening, uneven complexion and pores.

It contains 8.5% of the Lierac registers patent Premium Cellular Complex as well as 5% hyaluronic acid. The Lierac Premium cream also has a nutritious concentrate that deeply nourishes the skin. It includes shea butter, botanical glycerine, and botanical oils. The texture and smell of the cream are ultra-luxurious as well with a velvety soft finish.

Whilst the Lierac Premium Serum Booster contains patented Black Tulip and Kombucha (which is fermented black tea).

I can’t wait to introduce these two Lierac skincare products into my daily routine. Combining the Booster Serum with the cream together.

Feathers & Leather at Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week: Day 2

A green tweed twist on the swinging 60s

Combining my two favorite fashion eras (roaring 20s and the swinging 60s) in one. This tweed green set with knee-high boots is what I wore to the Global Fashion Collective fashion show in Paris as well as the Indonesia – Collective Show that took place at Hôtel The Westin Paris Vendôme.

Although Bella, Stephanie, Julia, and I, all got back to Switzerland last night (super late with our mega huge luggages!) after an intense weekend of traveling for Paris for Fashion Week. I found it really fun and rewarding, so I wanted to share with you some of my favorite moments from this season’s Fashion Week in Paris. Our days were pretty filled up with shows, presentations, meetings, and events. I really felt like we made the most of the days we had and once again the fashion capital captured my heart.

MY PARIS FASHION WEEK LOOK

So I opted for a green tweed suit I found it the weekend right before Fashion Week when I went to Lyon. As Lyon is famous for its textiles I was truly delighted to take home this set with me as a souvenir from the trip. I paired it with a bright green feather-trimmed shirt to add a playful twist and movement to the structured silhouette and a pair of white leather boots. Green and white leather, feathers, and tweed with gold detailing sounds a bit crazy but it tied together nicely I stuck to 2 colors for the whole look. I rocked this outfit for 2 fashion shows (we had zero time to change and were basically on the go all day). I did switch up the sunglasses and my hair between the shows but apart from that, the change was super minimal.

I am not used to wearing bright colors in my day-to-day and tend to gravitate to a more sober color palette (especially in Geneva), but this bright green tweed set caught my attention. The immediate association one makes between tweed sets and the French fashion house Chanel, was definitely a factor that lead to my instant crush on it, as well as the fresh green which reminded me of springtime. I framed the tweed green set with a long bottle green trench and white boots. Topping it off with my favorite part of this outfit which was the beautiful deep green handbag I was gifted from the Parisian brand THALIE. The “Livia” shape is so unique and incredibly practical (I managed to fit so much in it!) whilst remaining extremely chic. THALIE is a French brand that creates beautiful sustainable & vegan luxury handbags. They have bags made of cactus, a low impact alter leather, and the one I am wearing here is made of ICTYOS Squama Luxe, a French marine leather made of recycled salmon skin. The brand was present at Premiere Classe – the biannual leading hub for the fashion accessory market for over 30 years organized by WSN Development.

ABOUT THE FASHION SHOWS

The location of the first show was tucked away in a passage in the 9th (which is actually the area I had my fashion illustration classes back in the day!). Once past security, and several flights of stairs we found ourselves in LE SALON DES MIROIRS, a large space filled with photographers, press (including Vogue!), and fashion industry insiders. The show opened with the designer IANN DEY followed by MUVEMENT and BLUE TAMBURIN.

Next, we ran to The Westin located in the 1st Arrondissement where we were invited to the the Indonesia – Collective Fashion Show. It was a fabulous selection of 12 up-and-coming designers from Indonesia and Singapore. In association with Fashion Division Paris and supported by the minister of culture and ambassador of Indonesia the show was punctuated with speeches from each of the respective parties. Aiming to empower creative South East Asian talent into strong responsible brands of the future. It showcased their AW22 collections which included Harry Halim, AKSU, PURANA, VAR ERTE, Carol Chen (my personal favorite), Adisza Kahanasty, AM by Anggia, Hanyutan, Adraworld x HMNS, and Elima.

Afterward in the hotel corridors, we bumped into Marta Sierra, a Barcelona-based blogger who is one of my absolute favorite fashion influencers (1M on Instagram and often works with Coco Rocha) who had also been at the same show. A little later on, we also ran into the whole Valentino team. The iconic luxury Italian fashion brand had a corporate internal brand summit taking place that same day at the Westin hotel. The cherry on top for me that evening was when one of the Valentino team members nodded in approval, before complimenting me on my outfit. A definite pinch-me moment.
