Rosy Glowy Glam End of Summer Makeup

An easy, end of summer 2020 makeup look. Warm shades of pinks, oranges and pearl on your lips, eyes and face shout endless summer glam. Glittering sunsets go perfectly with a golden, rosy glow. This glowing, bronzed goddess look, à la Victoria Secret Model, is a huge trend this summer. Featuring sun kissed skin enhanced by rich shades of orange, golden bronze and of course highlighter. It’s a super glamorous and flattering look that compliments almost everyone. What’s more it’s a great transitional makeup for the seasonal change. Brining your summer tan into the autumn as well…

So here is how to get the perfect golden flush:

1. Start by priming your skin. I like to use L.O.V. Cosmetics PERFECTitude Hyaluronic Serum Primer. Easy to apply, it’s also packed with anti-aging ingredients.

2. Apply your usual foundation and concealer. Then fill in brows.

3. Next, taking the cream “based” shade from New Neutral Shadow Palette in Luxe from Revolution Pro, apply all over your eyelids.

4. Then with a blending brush work “Rumor” – a deep orange shade along your sockets.

5. Dabbing the shimmering “Glitzed” shade on the center of your lids and inner corners of your eyes.

6. Elongate you’re eyes with a flattering kitten flick using a black liner.

7. For extra drama, apply a pair of Natural Wispy Lashes from Makeup Revolution.

8. Define and accentuate your cheekbones with Makeup Revolution’s Ultra Blush Palette. Apply the matte bronzer and sweep the rosy blush onto your cheeks to create a sun kissed effect.

8. Then with L.O.V. cosmetics The GLOWrious deep metallic highlighting palette in 010, apply the lightest shade on the bridge of your nose, brow bone, Cupid’s bow and high points of your cheeks. Add a touch of the peachy pink highlighter shade to amplify the glow on the apples of your cheeks.

9. Apply an orange-toned nude lipstick to complete this end of summer makeup look. I love Makeup Revolution’s Satin Kiss Lipstick in “Icon”. Highly pigmented, it’s got a gorgeous, rich finish and comes in a luxurious packaging in rose gold. So it looks great if you take it along with you on your night out for touch ups.

10. If you want to add a little extra volume, apply the Jewel Collection Lip Topper from Makeup Revolution in “Exquisite”. Sheer with a duo color shifting chrome effect of silver and iridecent pink. This last step amps up the glam on this sunset summer look.

A Pop of Pastel

Pastels are really big makeup trend for SS20.

With the arrival of summer it’s a great time to switch up your usual makeup routine and be a bit more playful.

Anna Blachut POP of Pastell Makeup look2

I received a gorgeous selection of makeup from Beauty Palast. They are a Swiss online makeup store with over 11 000 products including some of my favorite brands like Makeup Revolution which I usually only find when I go to London!

So, with the recent bright days, a spring summer look that was seen all over Fashion Week was pastel eyeshadows. From icy mints, pale pinks to baby blues, it’s a baby doll trend that first hit big back in 1959 when the Barbie doll was launched wearing pale blue eyeshadow. This makeup trend remained popular from the 1960s to the 70s; then it was revived in the 00s and is hitting us hard this summer! It might seem like quite an advanced and intimidating makeup look but it is actually super simple, fun and easy to do!

So here is my take on the pastel pop makeup trend:

1. First I applied a little cream eyeshadow on my lids to have a base. I love Eye Glisten in Adored By You from Makeup Revolution as it’s got a gorgeous finish (it also looks great just on its own)

02. Next, taking the pastel shade of your choice, blend it all over each lid. I chose an icy blue shade from Makeup Revolution Glass Shadow Palette in Mirror. Focusing on the crease and blending it up and out with a fluffy brush.

3. Taking a slightly darker shade, add depth to the crease and along your lower lashes. Creating a shadow, almost like a cloud of color around your eyes.

4. Last but not least, mascara! Apply a lot to the base of your lashes to really define them. I used the L.O.V Cosmetics IllusionEYES 24H Volume & Curl False Lash Effect Mascara.

5. If you want to go full 00s, top off the look with the glittery LIPvolumizer Plumping Serum Gloss. And be sure to add some body glitter!

Best Spring Perfumes – 5 Fragrances & Scents for Spring 2020

Spring is in the air – my favorite fragrances to wear right now.

As the seasons shift, it’s a great time to switch up your current scent. Personally, I like unisex fragrances, so the majority of this selection is for both men and women.

So here are my top 5 top perfumes that I love to wear in spring!

1. Neroli Portofino by TOM FORD

I have been wearing this scent since 2011 when I discovered it at Harvey Nichols as a student. I could not get over how sparkling fresh it smells, instantly transporting me to the Mediterranean coast. It is inspired by the luxury Italian riviera resort town of Portofino, a region known for its opulent old-world glamour and breathtaking Italian landscape. This fragrance is for both women and men. Featuring crisp notes of citrus, lime and bergamot blended with amber undertones.

Also a fun fact about Neroli, did you know that it is known for its calming and relaxing properties? It can help alleviate anxiety and even treat stress-related depression. Talk about the perfect scent for this Springtime quarantaine.

2. Molecule 02 by Escentric Molecules

Molecule 02 is another fragrance I became quickly addicted to. Made as well for both women and men, Molecule 02 is ideal for spritzing on during the spring.

Fresh and subtle, it’s got an intangible allure to it. It’s key note is Ambroxan (a vegan variation of ambergris, a rare and precious perfume ingredient).

3. Oud Noir Intense by Fragrance Du Bois

A Privé Collection by the luxury perfumer house, Fragrance Du Bois, is stronger and more intriguing. Oud Noir Intense is an Eau de Parfum designed for both men and women.

It’s top notes open with bergamot and cardamom, before blending smoothly into a floral heart of jasmine and rose. Intertwined with amber, sandalwood, saffron, patchouli, vanilla and musk. The base is 100% pure organic oud. It’s an entrancingly velvet fragrance, ideal for a lazy day inside.

4. Nepal Aoud by Montale Paris

It took me an endless array of coffee beens and tests to finally find the fragrance from Montale that works well on my skin: Nepal Aoud. An enticingly exotic scent with top notes of nutmeg and saffron from Kashmir. Blended with Bulgarian rose and amber. With a sillage of leather, white musk and a touch of vanilla. Pierre Montale has created 140 fragrances to date, so if you are a fan of oriental blends, you bound to find one that fits you just right.

5. Santal 33 by Le Labo

A classic must have for all niche perfume lovers. This is the scent worn by countless celebrities (from Justin Bieber to Alexa Chung) launched in 2011. It’s a fragrance for women and men that has both woody and spicy notes, with hints of leather and musk. I discovered it in Shoreditch a few years ago and since then am hooked. I love that you can personalize your bottle and also refill it at any Le Labo store in the world. What’s more, each city has their own limited edition scent, so true globetrotting fans of the brand can collect them.

So there you have it. My top five spring scents for 2020. What about you? What are your favorite fragrances at the moment? Let me know in the comments below! X

Trend to try: a touch of red

“When in doubt wear red” – Bill Blass

The color of love, passion and power. One cannot go unnoticed when wearing it. Depending on how you style it, your look can be romantic or downright dramatic. Red is a 2020 trend that will add a little extra to any outfit. Especially during the month of love.

What I do especially in the winter when your wardrobe skews towards darker tones is to switch it up with a pop of color. Simply slipping on a vintage YSL jacket or a cute red cap from Zara as I did here will amp up any look. Another way to upgrade any look is to dress all in one color like white, blue or black and add a red handbag or shoes. Bold, red accents instantly inject a little life into any outfit.

Even if you simply add a touch to your lips or nails it looks chic and feminine especially with Valentine’s Day on it’s way. Personally, I love the classic Chanel Le Vernis in 08 – Pirate for my nails and Dior’s Rouge Ultra Care Liquid in 707 Bliss. It’s a flawless, flower oil liquid lipstick – ultra weightless wear and petal velvet finish. The ideal companion for a romantic V-Day date night.

Luxury Goodies: Winter skincare

Geneva, Switzerland.

Time for some TLC. January is the perfect time to crackdown on those New Years resolutions. For my part it’s my health and self care that I want to focus on. Having been extremely ill recently, I cannot express how much I value balance, wellness and health. Which is why I want to refocus and hone in on something that will be around for as long as I live: myself…!

First things first, the cold chilly air here in Geneva really affects my skin so I make sure to take extra care of it. My skincare routine is like a mini pampering session that I enjoy indulging in when it gets icy cold outside in Switzerland like today. I have been using this routine for over a year now and really love the results so I thought I’d share them with you today.

Since I travel a lot, I look for multifunctional products and Elline skincare range fit the bill just perfectly. What is more, it’s a Swiss premium cosmetics brand that is free of sulphates, parabens and harmful preservatives. Making them my go to option. Each of their products smells luscious and divine. What is more their packaging is gorgeous and ultra luxe. Did I mention the boxes lights up when you open them?!

Aside from this, the actual quality of the products speak for themselves. I opted for the ‘Treasures of Youth’ collection. I went ahead and started with the 24H Intensive Cream. Rich in texture, it really soothes the skin and nourishes it deeply.

On a daily basis, I’ll start with the Elline cleanser. Then I’ll pop on some Clinique eye cream and The Ordinary serum which I discovered last year in New York and absolutely love. If I’m motivated, I’ll use my jade roller to gently work in the serum and then spritz on some Valjean Labs Facial Mist. Letting that sink in. Then, I mix two drops of Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Booster into my Elline moisturizer before tucking in bed for the night.

On days when I feel very tired and that my skin really needs an extra boost, I’ll apply the Elline Miracle Mask and leave it on the whole night. It’s perfect ally against these cold winter days because it contains Hydrolite which helps prevent your skin from drying out. It also has powerful ingredients that revitalize the skin including vitamin E-rich sunflower oil and Capuaçu butter, which is rich in vitamins B1, B2 and B3.
